The Setting

Nestled in the pristine Selkirk range of the Rocky Mountains in northeastern Washington, Northern Lights Lodge is a uniquely enticing destination for all types of travelers. Beautiful mountain scenery, peace and tranquility, and fine dining combine with elegant accommodations to please the most discriminating traveler who simply seeks a memorable but relaxed interlude. On the other hand, the setting on the banks of the majestic Columbia River boasts an abundance of wildlife and extraordinary fishing, certain to delight the avid outdoorsman. From our back door, wehave access to over 160 navigable miles of one of the most scenic rivers in the United States for the boater, kayaker, or canoer. Known as Lake Roosevelt, this stretch of the Columbia River from just north of the Lodge to the Grand Coulee Dam is the largest lake in Washington State, and is becoming renowned for its outstanding Rainbow Trout and Walleye fishing. Though quite cold, the Columbia also provides some of the best water-skiing available anywhere, and will certainly refresh those hardy enough to swim. In addition, hundreds of miles of trails within a short distance of the Lodge make this area a hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding paradise. Our proximity to the Canadian border also gives us access to some of the finest golf courses and downhill skiing in Canada within a short driving distance.

General Description
With fastidious attention to the smallest detail, each room in Northern Lights Lodge epitomizes the theme of rustic elegance. The gorgeous furniture line, created by famous wildlife artist and sculptor, Dick Idol, set against the backdrop of rich textures and earth tones in walls, bedding, and window coverings, reflects the beauty of nature. Rich wood floors, log trim, bountiful tile, carefully chosen artwork, abundant houseplants, accents of river rock, and live plants year round complete the environment of earthy luxury that evokes an indescribable sense of well-being in those who have the pleasure of entering the doors of Northern Lights Lodge. The vaulted ceilings, lovely fireplaces, and many amenities in each unit invite our guests to linger in the privacy of their rooms, while the beautiful views from each window, the call of adventure, and the smell of culinary delights is almost certainly guaranteed to entice them out, at least temporarily.

Every window offers a gorgeous view of the peaceful mountains that surround Northern Lights Lodge. All of the four distinct seasons present new panoramic vistas, each remarkably as lovely as the last. To sit by the blazing fireplace in winter watching the falling snow while sipping a hot cup of coffee and reading a good book is the essence of relaxation. Then again, watching the deer steal through the meadow from the deck or patio in the crisp early morning of summer is equally memorable. Our guests may anticipate many special moments during their stay at Northern Lights Lodge, but none surpasses the experience of seeing the sky ablaze with the incomparable beauty of the northern lights as they dance across the heavens!

Common Areas
The living room, dominated by the enormous river rock fireplace, exudes warmth and comfort. This lovely room is perfect for small groupings to gather over business or for couples to enjoy the romantic ambiance accompanied by a glass of wine in the evenings while awaiting a sumptuous dinner prepared in-house especially for our guests.

The Dining Room
Our guests may enjoy breakfast and dinner in our dining room featuring generous, delicious, and beautiful entrees and side dishes. Every table has a lovely view. candlelight, seasonal flowers, fine wines, and outstanding desserts enhance the dining experience at Northern Lights Lodge. We can arrange the tables to accommodate a single couple or a group.

Office
The Lodge has a small office for the business traveler complete with computer and printer. The Lodge has wireless internet service throughout.
